In October, Twitter launched a new feature: Twitter Lists. They allow the Twitter user to sort the people they are following into smaller lists so important tweets no longer get lost in the shuffle. Although compiling these lists may seem tedious, they can definitely provide value for your company. Here are some tips and suggestions for making the most of lists:
- Create lists for groups like industry experts, clients, journalists, etc. so you can keep up with their tweets.
- When you attend, sponsor, or host an event, collect e-mail addresses and plug them into Twitter. Create a list and give it the same name as the event.
- Remember that you can determine whether a list will be private or public after you create it. If you set the list to private, no one will know that list exists except you, even the people who are on it.
- With the previous tip in mind, keep a list of your competitors. That way, you can keep tabs on what they’re doing and how they’re using social media.
- Check out the lists you’ve been put into by other Twitter users. This is a good indication of whether you’re conveying messages the way you intend to, and how other people perceive your company.
- Along the same lines, look through the lists other people have made, and see if any of them would be worthwhile for you to follow. They have already done the leg work of putting those people into a specific category, and they probably made the list public because they thought it could be of use to others.
So, log into Twitter, click New List in the sidebar, and start listing! And of course, stay up to date with CPX Interactive by following us on Twitter!

Last week, the Lustgarten Foundation held its annual Holiday Rock & Roll Bash to benefit the fight against pancreatic cancer. CPX executives, Mike Fleischman (EVP of Business Development), Gary Bembridge (EVP of Sales) and David Shay (EVP of Marketing) attended the event at B.B. King Blues Club in Times Square. They were among 1,000 guests who enjoyed a rock-and-roll and blues performance by JD & The Straight Shot, led by Cablevision President and CEO James Dolan, as well as a performance by the Radio City Rockettes.
“The Lustgarten Foundation’s commitment to fighting pancreatic cancer over the last 10 years has been amazing. The tremendous support of companies like Cablevision really help drive awareness and provide funding for accelerated research to help find a cure for this deadly disease. I worked directly under Marc Lustgarten during my 20 years at Cablevision, and was glad to bring the foundation to the attention of the CPX team. CPX is looking forward to supporting the Lustgarten Foundation in the future,” said Mike Fleischman, CPX Interactive’s EVP of Business Development.

CPX Interactive has been attending iMedia Connection Brand and Agency Summits for a number of years. Stephen Shearin, VP of Sales, Agency Division at CPX, reflects on the value derived from these events:
“CPX attends iMedia summits at least four times a year. The value in attending is layered on many levels, and goes WAY beyond the great locations, meals, and drink receptions…although they’re pretty great. On an individual level, most of the major players send their leaders, so the personal networking environment is much richer than it might be at a local event. To that end, the general conversation at iMedia summits can be as informative and instructive as the speakers and breakout sessions themselves. From a more holistic perspective, being represented there, personally and in the form of a sponsorship, is one of the most direct ways to come to the forefront of the market leaders represented at any iMedia.”
Next week, Shearin and other members of the CPX team will travel to Scottsdale, Arizona for the iMedia Agency Summit. The event takes place December 6-9, and will be guest hosted by Jim Spanfeller, former President and CEO of Forbes.com. CPX will be sponsoring lunch on Tuesday the 8th.
