Our philanthropic division in review…and a quick look forward.

We like to think of ourselves as a global online ad network with a conscience. Since our early days as a pioneer in the display advertising space, we have believed that the power to drive millions of eyeballs to online destinations creates a corresponding sense of responsibility. For this reason, we have leveraged our resources to create a corporate philanthropic division, CPXample, and thru it we have lent the power of online exposure to good causes of all kinds.

In the first stages of the philanthropic division’s growth, we picked specific causes to work with and served millions of no-charge impressions per month (usually 30 million) to direct scalable traffic to the cause’s website. Causes we partnered with during this early phase included; SaveDarfur.org, LiveEarth.org, The Child Rescue Network, Children’s International, and the American Diabetes Association.

As time passed we thought it would be interesting to put some more of our own ‘skin in the game.’ We began to think about creating and promoting our own causes. One gratifying result of this initiative was our partnership with Russell Simmons and his Hip-Hop Urban Action Summit Network in creating and promoting a celebrity studded video that addressed the importance of getting out the vote leading up to the 2008 presidential election. “Vote For it ’08!” was the name of the video and the related promotion. (OF NOTE: with the help of CPX Interactive’s global network, ‘views’ of the video shot to over 1 million with a two week launch period!)

As interest grew in the CPXample project, we realized that we wanted to ‘cover more ground’ and we decided to improve how we executed our plan. In order to increase the number of causes we could spotlight every month, we launched our ‘cause aggregation blog,’ http://www.cpxample.com/. Now, we could drive millions of impressions every month to one specific location, offering multiple cause per month the chance to be spotlighted on the site while a steady stream of cause-minded folks checked in to see what was new.

Along the way we have focused on Brand Philanthropy, offered ways for interested parties to get involved in causes, pointed to places where they could donate to recovery efforts and highlighted fun and interactive ways to make the world a better place…one click at a time.

In trying to keep up with how people choose to engage, we have added a Twitter stream and a Facebook page to the CPXample family along the way.

As we look forward to what is in store for our philanthropic efforts in the remainder of 2011, we are very excited about the upcoming Social Good Summit, a partnership between the United Nations Foundation and Mashable. The Social Good Summit will bring together entrepreneurs, philanthropists and technologists from around the world to discuss the current and future global challenges, and how the advances in technology can help. CPXample plans to cover the event in depth and to offer any assistance we can (with the help of the CPX Interactive network) in helping Mashable to make it a truly globally viral event.

As we continue to grow, we are always looking for new opportunities to branch our philanthropic efforts into other directions. You can reach out to us on our website at http://www.cpxample.com, on any of our social media pages or by emailing us at CPXample@cpxinteractive.com.

CPX Interactive Serves Up Social Media Integration

‘Thank You’ to our Account Executive, Emerging Verticals: Stephen Kelly for the contribution…

What isn’t involved with social media these days? When Marc Zuckerburg dreamed up Facebook did he think it could enable the overthrow of an Egyptian president? Did he know it would create a new medium for grandmothers to keep tabs on her grandchildren?

Just as Zuckerburg didn’t know how social media would change society today, we don’t know where this great big wave of digital interaction will take us in the future. The viral nature of social media makes information spread like wild fire and CPX is using that heat to fuel our brands.

Mark Zuckerberg, CEO and President of Facebook

CPX Interactive is spurring into this wild beast with innovative products and services to help leverage the power of social media for the success of our clients. CPX is on a select list of Facebook approved advertisers that Google couldn’t even make (http://bit.ly/efvnCM).

CPX offers clients the ability to gain exposure and popularity on Facebook through our ad vendor platform. The platform optimizes campaigns to reach a target collection of “likes” for a fan page, or “allows” for an application. This is a great tool CPX offers brands looking to expand their presence on Facebook.

Social media integration into high definition rich media ad units is another innovative way CPX is linking our brands to consumers. These interactive ads contain multiple high resolution images, flash animations and HD video while seamlessly linking brand websites and “likes” to Facebook Fan Pages. This ad unit also gives users the ability to post the featured content directly on Facebook or Twitter for all their friends to see.

The creative team at CPX Interactive also engineers great custom ads for brands. These creatives can be fully integrated with Facebook “like” buttons and are provided for clients solely at added value.

The CPX Social Media Package allows brands to reach users inside a variety of different social media platforms across the web. This advertising vertical is an attractive addition to CPX’s collection of packages because of the frequency and loyalty of use among site members. Social networking sites like Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn see 30% of users visit multiple times an hour.

Our social lives are continuously being integrated into digital form. Brands will ultimately influence society online just as they do today, and the role of social endorsement of products will evolve into this space as well. The internet is becoming a social gathering place, and CPX Interactive is providing brands innovative ways to attend the party.

We know that it can be a little confusing.

We make it easy : )–

The year is 180 A.D., our beloved emperor, Marcus Aurelius, mysteriously died in his sleep. His only son, Commodus, has taken the throne. Commodus rules with irrational fear, killing anyone or anything that threatens his power. The glory that once was Rome is all but lost. The Senate is too weak to challenge Commodus and Rome’s elite are too scared to show dissent. Rome’s fate lies in your hands, a mere slave. You must raise an army, develop your political power, expand the reaches of your influence and rise above the masses. There was once a dream called Rome… It is up to you to bring back the glory of Rome and crown yourself Caesar.

Treachery: The Rise to Caesar is an exciting, interactive, and addicting social networking game that lets you step into the shoes of a Roman slave who must raise an army, develop political power, and build a kingdom in order to overthrow Commodus, rise to Caesar, and restore the glory back to Rome!

To add the app and join the fun, go to http://apps.facebook.com/treachery!

Treachery: The Rise to Caesar is the inaugural initiative of Paperclip Applications, a Social Gaming division of online ad network, CPX Interactive.

Also, be sure to join the Paperclip Applications Group, on Facebook, where you can talk about Treachery, receive updates on current games, and make suggestions for future games!
